Eveleen is an Art Therapist based in Killarney town. She has a first class honours MA in art therapy from the Crawford College of Art and Design (CIT/MTU). She is a fully registered accredited member of the Irish Association of Creative Arts Therapists (IACAT). Eveleen attends regular clinical supervision and adheres to the IACAT code of ethics. She also holds an MFA in painting from NCAD. She is now taking appointments for one-to-one sessions with children of primary school age and teenagers up to sixteen years of age.
Eveleen has worked primarily with children and adolescents
in the areas of bereavement, autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, anxiety, issues
related to the family unit, learning difficulties, behavioural and
self-esteem issues. She is client led in her approach, promoting emotional
regulation, integrating self-identity and meaning-making through art-making,
within the therapeutic relationship.
Utilising an integrative approach to
combine creativity and psychodynamic approaches, she provides a therapeutic
assessment and treatment plan to best support her clients. Her approach is
based personal development by encouraging her clients to apply
meaning-making to their internal world. Eveleen allows for open use of art
materials to tell an individual story, through an art psychotherapy
framework.
